After a couple self-handled releases, ‘Organic Cities’, a 19-track album was written and produced by Maartje Teussink and contains different layer by layer recorded arrangements and English sung lyrics. The development and the recording of the songs, the artwork and lyrics, was realized during travels between different cities. The title ‘Organic Cities’ is a name for music as a binding and constant factor in an always changing time and place. The songs give an impression of a constant world of emotions while gathering impressions and experience in a city-moving world.

‘Organic Cities’ is a collection of songs, written, arranged, mixed and recorded by songrwiter Maartje Teussink. Played with different instruments, layers are recorded on English lyrics, wich tell from travelling through cities, from place to place. It took almost a year to finish the album completely, a lot of time went in to the detailed finishing touch of the arrangements, what instruments should be central, how does it support and strengthen the lyrics, but also what’s the value of an instrument sounding by itself, how can it give space and room to a whole, an image as a song, colour by colour, song by song. A variety of instruments were played and recorded for the songs and arrangements, such as akoustic guitar, electric guitar, korg synthesizer, percussion, volca beats drum computer, cello, ukelele, akoustic piano, electric piano vocals, electric bass, double bass, spanish guitar, violin.
‘Organic Cities’ has been released with the label ‘Butler Records/Bertus Distribution’.

In winter (January/February) 2026 artwork from the album ‘Organic Cities’ (January/February) will be published in the book ‘100 European Artists’ (published and distributed by the Italian publisher Çulture Lab‘
